Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up singing at home, in choir, in church.

For a long time, I thought if I was meant to “be a singer for real” it would just happen. And I had a sense I could write songs, but I was afraid of being seen and didn’t feel like I had anything to say. Music, for me, wasn’t so much about the words but about how it felt…the way a melody sits, the way harmonies hit, the way a song moves.

Eventually I got tired of not trying. So I sat down one day and wrote a song. It wasn’t good. But it was mine. That was enough to start.

From there, I kept going, learning, writing, showing up to it little by little.

When I gave myself permission to write songs that were actually about my life, something shifted.

The songs I’m releasing now come from that place. They’re my stories. Sometimes they feel a little scary to write, but they’re real. And I’m proud of them.

They’re a little dark, a little 90s which is exactly where I come from. I’ll let you decide what genre that makes them.

If you find yourself in them, I’d love the company.
